The staff at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia participated in a flu vaccine clinic on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Rite-Aid Pharmacy sent one of their nurses with influenza and COVID vaccines, and over half the staff took the opportunity to get protected against severe influenza disease. This year's shot is protective against two Type A and two Type B influenza viruses, and the COVID vaccines are for the latest circulating strain/variant.
The College does not require the vaccines for the staff, but we still enjoy a high vaccination rate. This has translated to fewer days missed due to severe flu or COVID. Most importantly, this also translates to better coverage of the community.
